Our Favorite Team LIVESTRONG Memories

LIVESTRONG Foundation staffers do more than just work in the office from 9-5. This is not the kind of place where you clock in and out. Our staff members live and breathe the mission and they even fundraise and participate alongside you at events.

Huck Cancer is the Ultimate

The Huck Cancer Ultimate Frisbee Tournament is a one-day, coed hat tournament and fundraiser for LIVESTRONG held every spring in San Francisco. This year the tournament takes place on March 26, 2016 at Beach Chalet Fields in Golden Gate Park. Adult and youth Ultimate players from throughout the Bay Area come together to have fun and support an important cause. Erin Hartman, one of the event creators, sat down with us and talked about this fun and unique event.

Huck Cancer: Community Fundraising in Action

Huck Cancer was born when Eric Arons was diagnosed with cancer. When friends approached Eric about doing something “formal” in his honor, he unselfishly (and very characteristically) turned the spotlight away from himself and suggested they set up a fundraising event that would involve something fun. These simple ideas evolved into the Huck Cancer Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. Huck Cancer is a great example of how grassroots events can bring together a community and help support individuals affected by cancer.
